Travel to Rapallo

Rapallo is about 30 km from Genova and 140 km from Pisa, both of which have international airports.

Genova Courtesy Bus
From Genova, we have arranged a bus departing at 4 p.m. on Sunday, 15 June. You can consult the list of participants who are arriving in Genova before 4 p.m, and thus scheduled for the courtesy bus here. We have tried to pool those with later arrival times so that they can coordinate the trip to Rapallo. For the return to Genova, we have arranged a bus departing from Rapallo at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, 21 June. The meeting place and bus stops will be communicated at the Symposium. The list of participants who leave Genova after 10:00 a.m. and are thus on the courtesy bus can be consulted here.

Pisa Courtesy Bus
From Pisa, there are fewer participants, and we have arranged two small courtesy vans for arrival on Sunday, 15 June. You can consult the list of participants who are arriving in Pisa and scheduled for the courtesy bus here. There is no courtesy bus for the return on 21 June to Pisa airport, because of the sparse number of participants leaving that day from Pisa.

Questions related to the Courtesy Bus/Vans
If you have already filled in the online travel form , and think you should be on the bus or the vans but are not, please let us know as soon as possible via email. Also inform us as soon as possible if you are assigned to a bus or van, but would rather not be. It is now difficult (see Important Dates) to add passengers to the courtesy bus/vans but, depending on your needs, perhaps not impossible.

Train transportation to and from Rapallo
Alternatively, there is a Pisa-Genova train line which conveniently stops at the station in Rapallo. We have compiled a set of instructions for the Pisa-Rapallo and Genova-Rapallo train trips, including train timetables and bus transfer timetables from the train station to the airports. Taxi transportation to and from Genova
Finally, you can take a taxi either from the Genova airport to the train station, or all the way to Rapallo. There is a taxi stand at the exit of the Genova airport, and you can also call them at +39 010 5966. According to our enquiries, a taxi from the Genova airport to the railroad station (Principe, the closest to the airport, or Brignole, closer to the direction of Rapallo) would cost 20-25 Euro. A taxi from the Genova airport all the way to Rapallo would cost roughly 55 Euro + the highway toll of approximately 3.50 Euro. The Genova airport has a website for public transportation. To take a taxi from the Pisa airport to Rapallo would be prohibitively expensive; we advise taking the train.
